Messy kids, hugs from Mum and a new car

Times are tough and so when Dave offered to take our SUV and the $405 lease payments, it was something that made sense and we were grateful.  Being terrible with money, Dave decided to just GIVE Bran his his Jeep as he couldn't be bothered to sell it!!! Thank you Dave!!! Turns out, Bran loves the Jeep and me and the kids are just fine in Bran's wagon.

We keep telling Chloe that we can get a dog when Daddy gets a good job. The other day Bran was going to an audition, and when Chloe asked where he was going, I said 'to work'. Chloe's eyes got so excited and she said, 'NOW can we get a dog!!!????". My heart almost broke. Sorry Chloe.

A quiet moment

I am having such a rare moment that I have to write about it. House is clean- somewhat rare. Bran is at work- rare. BOTH kids are sleeping at the same time- extremely rare. All I can hear is Doug's paint machine humming away, which is actually quite soothing. I don't even know what to do! Pluck my eyebrows? Read scriptures? Plan my lesson? Sleep? Sew? Call Mum? call friends? Organize? AHHHHHHHH....I don't know what to do! Maybe I will do nothing. Exponentially rare!

Backyard makeover at the Swierenga's!

Christina Anderson was in charge of the decor for Alli's shower, and turns out we got a backyard makeover because of it!!! The back area shown in these next pictures was off limits because of how dirty and nasty it was. Not anymore!!!! Thank you Christina!!!

My favorite part- a swing!!!

Christina turned our baby pool into a fountain. Seriously.

MLK day (january 19)

MLK might just be my new favorite holiday!!! In the middle of winter, we spent a beautiful sunny day at the park and then headed to Malibu to play at the beach with some friends. It was a perfect day until Chloe threw up at Daphnes restaurant. At first we thought she had choked, but turns out she had a stomach bug. Still, a great day and a reminder that we love living in L.A!!!

Chloe's Princess Party- No Boys Allowed!!!

Although Chloe turned 3 in December, we had a birthday party for her in mid January as to avoid absentees due to Christmas Holidays. Chloe is a perfect mix of a girly girl and tomboy, but when asked what kind of party she wanted, she went with a Princess party. Alas, no boys were allowed and the girls had a great time dressing up like princesses, getting their make-up put on by our very own make-up artist, Sophie Chamberlain and decorating crowns. It was a true success and Chloe is lucky to have so many sweet little friends!

New Years Eve

Every year Bran and I agree that New Years is an over rated night and have had the most fun staying in or hanging out at friends houses playing games. This year, we were in Colorado and had a built in babysitter (Grandma and grandpa) so we went to a house party with Cristin and Josh. We ended up having the best time playing Scattegories and taking crazy pictures of ourselves jumping and spinning. I know, it sounds ridiculous and juvenile, but it was so much fun!

simple blog, but better than nothin'!

I have friends, one in particular, whose blogs might as well be published in the L.A times and win all kinds of awards for writing, creativity or entries on motherhood (you know who you are)!!! My blog, however, is simply to get my photos to my friends and family and maybe throw in a few thoughts here and there. So here are a slew of pictures from December. Enjoy!!!
